I found this (16 point) mandala template online. I couldn't get it to work like Bobbie's template but finally just duplicated the 4 points (4 times) and turned them into place. I had to do a lot of blending to fix the areas where it did not match up. Does anyone know where I can find some different mandala templates online?
This was done from a sunflower and I am wondering if I would be "cheating" if I copied the center of the sunflower and dropped it into the center of the mandala? I tried it and I really liked the way it looks

It looks great to me, and no I don't think it is cheating at all. Some mandalas, I find, are created without the pie shapes and are free form. I think it must be circular and that is about the only defining element. Read Sue O'Keeffe's sacred-circle-mandalas.blogspot.com on "Move and Nudge" and you will find out how to make those pieces line up nicely. If we have a mutual friend who knows your email address (and mine) that could get us in touch by email, then I will send you a 16 piece mandala template.
You are really moving quickly with these mandalas, and this one is lovely. I like sunflowers anyway, but here I particularly like the blending of gold with black which gives the mandala a very contemporary feel. I admire you for doing these as the instructions always sound very complicated to me!
There is no cheating in image making. Copying to create a pattern many times yeilds beautiful results.
That is great and much better than anything I ever managed with those online mandalas.
I recommend Bobbie's templates, they work great for me, but these have a lovely clean finish - you are one clever lady - I always ended up with lines and mess all over mine.
Wow, very cool!

Wow I really like the top one...and then I saw this and now I can't decide which one I like best!
I think they are both very good. The circle in the centre does give it a better sense of being finished...but that is probably influenced by the fact that I saw the other one! great stuff!
