How do YOU recycle?

My mother…Lord love her …..was born with a rampant recycling gene! When I was a child she even recycled our Christmas wrapping paper and ribbon….a little pressing with the iron and it was good as new. So today I thought I’d introduce you to my mothers yard. I am constantly amazed by her ingenuity (and sometimes appalled). None the less, her yard is an interesting place to visit between her green thumb and quirky yard art.

Our local weather station......

TV table bath...with waiting area on the side.
Shaded lawn chair feeder with plank seat for squirrels
to sit and crack pecans....birdseed hubcap on side.
Does anyone know what she can do with her old bowling ball???

Your mother sounds like quite an ingenious character. If she had been a man, she probably would have been an engineer or something. Maybe an inventor.

She does have a lovely large yard. Just imagine, all that room!

I love the TV table bath, what a cool idea. I'm amazed that she still has one of these. Bowling balls can be used as toys for pigs, but I didn't see any in the pictures. hehe. I've seen them used as yard ornaments by painting them cool colors and laying them in the flowerbed. Put a pig by and you would have art!

Hi Barb,

Fun pictures!! Let's see ... bowling ball ... how about making it into one of those globes people put in their gardens. A little stand and it would be very nice.

These are great!! Love the mushroom. You can buy these round here, but at great expense. You can also buy those globes here for gardens.

The birdtable bath really is ingenious, and, as Sweet Irene says, is worthy of an inventor.

A bolingball? Maybe you can put oasis in the holes and put flowers in it.........(I would throw it away!)
Nice pictures! Recycling is ok, only I'm not good at it.

Hi I don't know how to register yet so I am being anonymous.

But that bowlingball---why not cement it to a pedistal of some sort and put a little dirt in the holes and plant ivy...then she could be in the ivy leagues...LOL.

good luck! Thanks for making MY day a little brighter too.
